CrippaConcept has made a name for itself on the mobile home and lodge tent market in virtue of its unique style, in step with the times, focused on design and the living requirements of today’s campers who are increasingly looking for comfortable and accessoried facilities.
This success has been spearheaded by members of a team at an Italian company which has come to be renowned and appreciated at an international level. People whose experience and foresight have steered the company towards the achievement of its results so far, and who dedicate themselves to customers, responding to their requirements with increasingly customised and quality creations.

Today we present Luigi Plebani, production department manager and historic member of the work group created by Sergio Redaelli. An esteemed professional, with an impressive 35 years of experience in the caravanning sector before entering Crippacampeggio Srl, he answered our questions with enthusiasm, shedding some light on his “world”.

In terms of production, what has always distinguished CrippaConcept from other competitors, over the years?

When we first started producing mobile homes, we entered a sector where they were seen more as a large caravan, than an actual home. We transformed this caravan module into a home, where the sofa is a sofa, curtains are actual home curtains, as are the furnishings and beds. We introduced details conceived for the home rather than for caravans, and this made all the difference.

We have also always created a tailored product, based on our customers’ requests. Both in terms of layout, cladding, flooring and insulation. With us, all those technical contents which were impossible to find on a standardised market became possible and feasible, enabling the creation of a mobile home made “in its own image”.

How big a part did your experience and work team play in the achievement of these results?

Each of us contributed our own experience. Before becoming a part of CrippaCampeggio Srl, I had worked for 35 years in the camper van sector, at the manufacturing department of a famous Italian brand, where I was also entrusted with technical assistance. Simone Mazzucchielli on the other hand, currently the company’s Head Designer, had experience in the mobile home sector, and Sergio Redaelli in the furnishing, design and plein air sectors.
The experience of all three of us was decisive in creating a tight-knit team, focused on the objective. Together we all started from scratch and have since reached our seventh year of production, so I think it’s safe to say that we have achieved great results.

How do you handle customer requests?

We create “clothes” tailored to the customer’s requirements. What’s more is that we never stop selecting and researching materials capable of satisfying us, both in aesthetic and technical terms. We are always looking for new and innovative solutions, modern, eco-sustainable materials with an interesting design.

There is particular focus on insulation, for enhanced comfort during the months in which the home is inhabited. We strive to make sure that guests feel as though they were in a real home, similar to a hotel room, but better, because the setting is undoubtedly more beautiful and appealing: camping sites offer many opportunities for socialisation, immersed in nature.
Obviously we also pay particular attention to energy saving, because good insulation means you use the air conditioning and heat pump less… without compromising on consistently high levels of interior comfort.

From creation to installation, how does the process happen?

Despite being customisable, our product has been industrialised, it is entirely built and assembled in-house, on a production line which starts from the chassis and ends with a fully furnished home, ready to be shipped to the customer. The only thing missing upon delivery is sewage, water and electricity hook-up.

We have three production sites. The main one is in Torre d’Isola (Pv), there’s another in San Giustino in Umbria, and Croatia. This is because we ship voluminous products and greater distances would result in unsustainable shipment costs. Mobile homes are built from A to Z, at all three sites.

At Torre d’Isola we also prepare and assemble glamping tents with bathroom. These tents are pre-assembled at the plant and assembly is completed on-site at the campsite. The frame is entirely made from wood apart from joints, inside there are rest rooms and other services, it’s just like a mobile home, but instead of having the shell of a mobile home, we have a tent.
Crippacampeggio initially started out as a fabric business, and we have channelled all our experience into these lodge tents, especially in terms of research into quality fabrics.

Last of all, what do you think the strong points are of the company you work for?

Without a doubt there are four in particular, and its nice to remind ourselves of what they are: experience, continuous research into innovative materials, customisation, punctuality in delivery and product reliability.

Crippa Campeggio is proud to have a professional figure the calibre of Luigi Plebani among its managers.
